(1) The research of suicide is monographic research , Durkheim  mostly did his systematic research study in this topic suicide .

(2) In Society suicide is a very common thing in every society .

(3) Main reason for suicide according to Emile Durkheim are .

 Social disorganization  , Lack of social integration , Social solidarity .

(4) He understood multivariate analysis to establish the relationship between rule of suicide and social factor . 

               INDEPENDANT VARIABLE / DEPENDENT VARIABLE 

(5) Suicide is not an psychological phenomena it is a sociological factor .

(6) Durkheim was interested in the study of suicide as there was an increase in the of suicide with the coming in of industrialization in 1850 Europe .

  Durkheim  Analyzed  suicide   rates  from  different  section of society   and  found :

. Suicide rates are higher in men then women .

. Suicide rates are higher for people without children then people with children.

. Suicide rates are higher for those who are single than those who are in sexual relationship.

. Suicide rates are higher among soldiers than civilians .

. Suicide rates are higher among protestant than Catholics and Jews .

. Suicide rates are higher in Scandinavian countries. [ European countries , Denmark , Sweden,  Norway ].

. From the above analysis Durkheim  held that suicide could not be be explained by individuals or psychological factors but should be explained by analyzing the link between social institution and the individuals.

(7) He suggested 4 types of suicide.

1 Egoistic suicide

2Altrustic suicide

3Anomic suicide

4Fatalistic suicide

Egoistic suicide according to durkheim when a men is socially isolated themselves  or cut- off from the society that usually cut off from the main stream of society at that condition of suicide is know as egoistic suicide.

Altruistic suicide this types of suicide usually occurs when a people is too close or to intimate with emotions and over integration of the individuals for example SATI practice , Solders die for our country.

Anomic suicide this happen due to sudden break down of social equilibrium  such as suicide after bankruptcy or after winning a lottery . In other words we can say anomic suicide take place in a situation which has cropped up suddenly.

Fatalistic suicide this suicide take place where over regulation are applied on a individuals such as force to go against  there will  .  According to Durkheim servant and  labor commit  more suicide .
